Swarm Democracy Group
My job in Congress will be to represent the will of the people of New York’s 21st district, not corporate lobbyists. In Congress I will always vote the same way that 500 working class citizens from New York’s 21st district will vote. Those 500 American citizens from all 15 counties of the 21st district will be my bosses, not billionaire owner donors or lobbyists.
If you are a working class American citizen who is a resident of New York’s 21st district, then you can join the Swarm Democracy Group. Joining this group allows you to vote on the bills.
Before voting on a bill, I will always send a text message to all members of the Swarm Democracy Group which will contain a link to the full text of the bill as well as a link to the summary of the bill. Each member of the Swarm can then reply to the text message with Y for yea or N for nay or P for present (to abstain). I will then vote the same way that the majority of Swarm members vote.
The only circumstance in which I would vote differently from the Swarm Democracy Group would be if the Swarm would vote for a policy that is illegal: that violates human rights enshrined in domestic law, the U.S. Constitution, or international law. But I don’t foresee that happening as I trust the good judgment of members of our district.
Swarm Democracy is a concept that draws inspiration from swarm intelligence, in which decentralized and collective decision-making emerges from the interactions of individuals, similar to how ants, bees or flocks of birds coordinate their actions with no central authority. In political or governance context, Swarm Democracy refers to a model in which decision-making is distributed among a large number of participants.
The True Representation Movement (TRM)
This campaign is based on the The True Representation Movement (TRM) which you can read about here: https://truerepmovement.com/ TRM is an initiative designed to bring direct democracy to the U.S. Congress. As a candidate running under the TRM banner, I pledge to vote strictly according to the will of 501 randomly selected, anonymous working-class constituents, called the Swarm Democracy Group. These constituents will use secure TRM text messaging to vote on bills, and as your TRM representative I am bound to follow their collective decisions.
Members of Congress have been consistently, and systemically out of touch with their constituencies on almost all issues. Representatives are seldom held accountable for having voted many times in ways that do not reflect the majority of their constituency. Instead, we have Representatives voting by taking into account pressures from their political party, their caucus, their campaign donors, and other monetary influences that have no relation to the will of the people that they are supposed to represent.
By voting strictly in accordance with the will of the 500 participating voters in the Swarm Democracy Group, I will act in a way that is far more representative of the will of the people than current members of Congress.
American citizens who are residents of New York’s 21st district and who are members of the working class – i.e., whose household income is no more than 20% of the median household income in the district – are invited to become Swarm Democracy Group voters. 500 of those who apply to become Swarm Democracy Group voters will be randomly selected.
By focusing on economic class, our campaign directly addresses the root cause of many social divisions: economic anxiety. Members of the working class share fundamental concerns such as wages, healthcare, and education. By empowering them to legislate in their own interest, social tensions decrease, and real democracy is restored.
To become a member of the Swarm Democracy Group you need to meet the following criteria:
Be an American citizen
Be a resident of New York’s 21st district
Not have an income more than 20% of the median household income in New York’s 21st district
Have a cellphone that can receive and send text messages
Sign an agreement that you will never accept any bribes, monetary compensation or other favors in exchange for how you vote
Each member of the Swarm Democracy Group will be able to verify that their vote was counted correctly.
There will be Swarm Democracy Group members from all 15 counties in New York’s 21st district. The counties in the district are St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, parts of Jefferson, Lewis, large parts of Oneida, Herkimer, Hamilton, Essex, Warren, Fulton, large parts of Saratoga, Washington, large parts of Montgomery and Schoharie.
I welcome and encourage you to join the Swarm Democracy Group so that you can participate in decision making about policies that affect your lives.
